Central Oregon Nature Journaling

While it’s been 10 months that I have lived near Pine Nursery Park, this is my first spring in the area. I’s been a slow spring too. Here it is in early May and still snowing this year. The flowers are just now opening up. In this video I cover three plants in the park that are native to the Central Oregon area: Sand Lilies, Antelope Bush and Wax Currant.

My sketches are meant to record what I am seeing at that time. My nature journaling is not really works of amazing art. Rather it is a journal entry that includes illustrations and notes. Journaling is a broad term that you can interpret in many ways. Grab the one that speaks to you and run with it.

It’s ok to have many journals. Art journal, writing journal, business journal, nature journal, you get the idea. Keep notes, sketch, draw, paint and fill up those blank books that you have stashed away.
