Moon Glow by Daniel Smith shows grays, purples and blues - all in one color.

What I am excited about - Tambi new colors

Kuretaki Gansai has a new set of granulating watercolors out. They are on the red/blue spectrum but look amazing. They are on my want/need list. I am passionate about granulating watercolors and the unpredictable look they create. The Tambi colors will dry out with two different colors. I have a Daniel Smith watercolor that does the same, Moon Glow, which is a black purple color. Granulation is the particles of the pigment that form, sometimes creating a bit of clumping of the pigment. Perfect for an uneven surface such as rock or ground, or for creating visual interest in the art work.

I have been a fan of Kuretaki Zig’s products for many years. Love their pens and gouache paints. They also produce a lovely set of metallic paints, opal paints (think interference, color will show up better on dark papers), and graphites.

Also new by Kuretaki is the Sumi set of tinted black watercolors. Again, a fun way to use blacks without them being solid black. Tinted black in red, yellow, green, blue, violet and brown.

The Tambi watercolors are on order and I will report back next month on what I think.
