Summer Musings
It’s so crazy hot outside that it’s too hot to even sit in the shade. I have been trying to get in the bulk of my walking in the early morning hours. Doing double milage before it’s too hot to even think outside. I am thankful for the very first I have owned in my life with central air. When I moved to Santa Fe, air conditioning wasn’t even thought of as a necessity. Now it is. Even here in central Oregon it was not a summer requirement, alas it is now. What a crazy world we live in!
Anyway, the heat has me slowing way down. I have begun the great purge of the extra bedroom! Cleaning out things that have been in boxes for four years or that we moved and shouldn’t have. I knew when I packed things up that I would have to do this: purge. I punted at packing time and now I am putting in the time. However, I have found a few treasures which is fun.
We have a neighborhood garage sale next weekend, I intend to sell the bulk of what I have then. Facebook marketplace has been a good place too. I find it interesting what sells rapidly and what sits. An insight into human nature.
I am creating the vacuum in my life by removing the old and making space for the new. I feel like I have reinvented my life several times over the years and now I am in the process of doing it again. Shedding the skin of the previous life to prepare for the new one.
In between the cleaning and purging, I have snuck in some art time. Urban Sketching, creating projects for future YouTube videos, and planning a restorative retreat.
