Illustrating An Old Book
Many years ago either at my grandmother’s house or my mother’s I acquired a book of poetry. Not sure why it attached itself to me but it did. I have hauled across many states and back. The other day it surfaced and I knew why I had been saving it! The book wanted color and illustrations.
I have been doing a page spread a day and it’s been fun. Mixing transparent watercolor and gouache together over the pages, mostly trying to match the themes of the poems.
Here is your project: grab an old book of some sort that you want to do something to and begin painting. Acrylic paints will work also. Watercolor pencils, or crayons, pastels, you name it, use it!
