Do Nice Things for Your Future Self

Most of the time we are looking back at what was. Rarely do we think of ourselves in the future tense. We do what we do for today. 

Yes, we went to school to learn to supposedly get a better job, or so we were told. But we didn’t look at school as doing something for our future selves. We just did it. 

Today, you have the choice to do something for your future self: eating unprocessed foods, organic grass raised meats, getting outside for a walk daily, going to the gym, or doing the work. All of these will have an impact on you today but that impact is compounded if done daily so that your future self will benefit immensely from your actions today.  

Just like most poor health issues are a result of dietary choices made yesterday. Today you feel the effects of the poor choices. Sort of like a hangover that takes decades to build, then it hits you with a sledge hammer and you wonder how you got there. 

Baby steps, always small progressive steps towards the person you want to be tomorrow. You will get there when you least expect it. That achievement is a great feeling.
