Creative Inspiration
Staying creative or motivated can many times be difficult. I just finished working six days in a row. Retail is not easy work, though it is rewarding. I was burnt out and needed a reset. One of the best resets is spending time in nature. We headed up to the mountain lakes, and spent nearly two hours paddling Hosmer Lake. The birds were singing, a bald eagle flew over, swallows and red wing blackbirds hung out along the lake. Fish jumped, though none of the guys fishing caught any! The majestic Cascade Peaks ringed the lake. Perfection!
By the time we got off the lake and headed home I felt like I had been gone for days. It was a true refresher.
Get out for a hike, an over night or even just a picnic in amongst nature will help reset your creative soul. Being physically active if you can helps up the reset.
For short bursts, I love my garden. The flowers cheer me up, it is fun to watch them grow and produce colorful happiness. If you don’t have a garden, buy a bouquet of flowers, Costco usually has large bunches at a reasonable price. Trader Joes is another decent place, farmer’s markets are the best. Or if you still have a local florist, support them!
@bobandmarge on Instagram have beautiful photos of flowers. Worth following for floral inspiration. Look at the light and shadow, color combos, then grab those and use those pallets in your work. See what happens!
